Projective Varieties
Projective space adds points at infinity so parallel lines meet. Bézout’s theorem holds cleanly: two curves of degrees d and e meet in exactly de points (counted with multiplicity).
WHAT STUDENTS WILL LEARN
✓Define projective space and projective varieties
✓Apply homogeneous coordinates
✓Identify the projective closure of an affine variety
✓State Bézout’s theorem
