Normal Subgroups and Quotient Groups

Quotient groups treat each coset as a single element, building simpler groups from complicated ones. The kernel of a homomorphism is always a normal subgroup.

WHAT STUDENTS WILL LEARN
Define normal subgroups: gHg⁻¹ = H
Construct the quotient group G/N
Recognize kernels as normal subgroups
Apply the correspondence theorem
