Limits and Continuity

The limit is the foundational idea of calculus — the ε–δ definition replaces intuition with precision. Continuity is limit-behavior at a point made into a property of the function itself.

WHAT STUDENTS WILL LEARN
Define the limit using ε–δ
Apply limit laws and evaluate limits algebraically
Classify discontinuities; apply IVT
Evaluate limits at infinity and determine asymptotes
