Views and Nets of 3D Objects

Every 3D object can be flattened into a net and described by its top, front, and side views. Students move between three representations — the solid itself, its two-dimensional views, and its net — building the spatial reasoning that underlies surface area, engineering drawings, and packaging design.

A short walkthrough to play in class or assign for flipped/at-home viewing.
WHAT STUDENTS WILL LEARN
Draw and interpret top, front, and side views of 3D objects
Match a given net to the 3D object it represents
Construct 3D objects from their nets
Use nets to connect the faces of a solid to its surface area
