Solving Multi-Step Linear Equations

Multi-step equations bring every algebra skill together: distribute, collect like terms, move variables to one side, and isolate the unknown. Solving 1 + 2x = 3 − ⅔(x + 6) means working carefully through rational coefficients and checking the answer by substitution. Equality is preserved at every step — whatever you do to one side, you do to the other.
