Arithmetic Sequences
An arithmetic sequence is a list of numbers where you add the same value each time: 3, 7, 11, 15, … The common difference d is that constant addition. The general term formula tₙ = a + (n−1)d lets students find any term without listing every one before it. This is functional thinking — the same input-output structure as linear functions, now applied to discrete sequences.
WHAT STUDENTS WILL LEARN
✓Identify an arithmetic sequence by its common difference
✓Write the general term formula: tₙ = a + (n−1)d
✓Find any term in an arithmetic sequence
✓Model real-world situations using arithmetic sequences
